AI transparency statement

This statement explains how FIX IT approaches artificial intelligence. It is governed by our internal AI Governance Framework (Document 11).

1. Current use

FIX IT does not currently use AI to make decisions about customers, providers, jobs, payments or disputes. Every decision on the platform today is deterministic (rules-based) or made by a trained human administrator.

2. When we enable AI

If we later enable AI features, they will operate at one of three documented levels: Advisory (suggests, human decides), Assisted (drafts, human approves) or Automated (acts, human can override). Suspensions, provider rejections, high-value refunds, fraud findings, safety decisions and legal escalations remain human-in-the-loop.

3. Logging & auditability

Every AI-assisted decision is logged with the model, model version, prompt, recommendation and confidence, alongside any human override reason. Our audit trail is designed with these fields from day one.

4. Fairness

Any matching, ranking or scoring will avoid protected characteristics and be tested for disparate outcomes before deployment.

5. Your rights

Where AI is used in a decision that materially affects you, you have the right to human review under POPIA §71 and our own governance rules.
