What is the absolute minimum I need to work on FIX IT?
A verified identity, a verified bank account, a proof of address, and the statutory trade registration for any regulated service you offer.
Do I need a company to be a provider?
No. Sole operators are fully supported through the sole-operator declaration.
Is public liability insurance compulsory?
Not by law, but it is required in practice for estate, commercial and higher-value work — and one claim without it can end a business.
Which trades legally need a licence?
Electrical (Wireman's Licence for CoCs), plumbing (PIRB for CoCs), gas (SAQCC Gas), refrigerant handling (SAQCC Refrigeration) and security services (PSIRA).
How long does FIX IT verification take?
Usually one working day per document, up to two on high-volume days.
Why was my document rejected?
The exact reason is recorded on the review and sent to your inbox. Glare, cropped edges, expired documents and name mismatches are the most common causes.
Does an expired document stop me working?
An expired mandatory document blocks new job offers until you upload a current one. You are warned 30, 14 and 7 days before expiry.
