1What is it?
Company verification (Level 2 — Business Verified) confirms either a valid CIPC registration linked to a verified director, or an accepted sole-operator declaration, together with verified banking.
2Who needs it?
- Providers trading under a business name
- Providers wanting the Company Verified badge for commercial work
3Who doesn't need it?
- Sole operators may complete a sole-operator declaration instead of registering a company
4Registration categories
Registered company
CIPC CoR14.3 plus a verified director identity.
Sole operator
Signed declaration that you trade in your own name, plus verified identity.
5Why is it important?
Customers commissioning higher-value work want to know who they are contracting with. Business verification tells them there is an accountable legal entity behind the quote.

14Frequently asked questions
Can I be verified without a company?
Yes. Complete the sole-operator declaration — you will be business verified as a sole operator.
My trading name differs from my registered name. Is that a problem?
No, provided you declare the trading-as name and the registered entity is clear on invoices.
15How FIX IT verifies this
- Our reviewer checks the registration certificate for company name, registration number and director details.
- At least one listed director must match a verified FIX IT identity on the account.
- Where a sole-operator declaration is used, we confirm the declaration is signed and the identity is verified.
- Banking must be verified in the same name before the Business Verified facet is set.
- Approval is logged in the provider document review history and reflected on the public trust profile.
