1What is it?

Identity verification confirms that the person behind a FIX IT provider account is a real, identifiable individual. It is Level 1 of the FIX IT verification model and is mandatory before any provider can receive job offers.

2Who needs it?

  • Every provider on FIX IT, without exception
  • Every director of a provider company claiming Company Verified status

3Who doesn't need it?

  • Nobody. Identity verification is the one non-negotiable requirement.

4Registration categories

Level 0 — Registered

Account created, email and phone confirmed.

Level 1 — Identity Verified

Approved government ID. Mandatory to receive jobs.

5Why is it important?

Customers let providers into their homes, often at night and in an emergency. Verified identity is the foundation of every other trust signal on the platform.

6Benefits

  • Unlocks job offers and dispatch eligibility
  • Displays the Identity Verified badge on your public profile
  • Contributes to your Trust Score
  • Protects honest providers from impersonation

  1. 1Sign in and open the Business Centre, then Documents.

  4. 4Confirm the name and ID number captured on your profile match the document exactly.
  5. 5Submit for review and watch for the outcome in your inbox.
  6. 6If more information is requested, respond with the specific item asked for.

14Frequently asked questions

Why was my ID rejected?

The most common reasons are glare, cropped corners, a name mismatch with your profile, or an expired permit. The exact reason is recorded on the document review.

Do you share my ID with customers?

Never. Customers see only that you are Identity Verified — never the document or the number.

Can I work while it is pending?

No. Dispatch requires an approved identity document.

15How FIX IT verifies this

  • Our compliance reviewer opens the uploaded document in the admin verification console.
  • We check the document type, legibility, expiry where applicable, and that it has not been altered.
  • The full name and identity number are matched against the details on your FIX IT account.
  • The reviewer approves, rejects with a specific reason, or requests more information.
  • Approval sets the Identity Verified facet on your verification state and lifts you to Level 1.
  • Every action writes to your provider document review history with reviewer, action, note and timestamp.
