1What is it?

Compliance verification covers the documents that protect customers financially rather than proving skill: public liability insurance, COIDA good standing and tax compliance. Together they form Level 4 — Insurance Verified plus the supporting compliance record.

2Who needs it?

  • Providers doing work inside customer property where damage is possible
  • Providers who employ staff
  • Providers seeking commercial, estate or insurance panel work

3Who doesn't need it?

  • Sole operators doing low-risk, non-invasive work may operate without COIDA, but insurance remains strongly recommended

5Why is it important?

These documents decide who pays when something goes wrong. Customers reasonably expect a marketplace to check them, and FIX IT does — with expiry monitoring rather than a once-off check.

6Benefits

  • Insurance Verified badge with the cover amount displayed
  • Eligibility for higher-value and commercial work
  • Automated expiry warnings so you are never caught out
  • Stronger Trust Score and better dispatch ranking

7Step-by-step guide

  1. 1Upload your public liability policy schedule with the cover amount and expiry date.

  3. 3Upload your SARS registration or TCS PIN letter.
  4. 4Respond to any request for more information.
  5. 5Replace each document before its expiry date to keep the badge live.

14Frequently asked questions

Is insurance compulsory on FIX IT?

It is strongly recommended for all providers and effectively required for higher-value and commercial work.

What happens when a document expires?

It is marked expired, the badge is withdrawn, and where the document is mandatory for your work, new offers are blocked.

Do customers see my cover amount?

Yes, the verified cover amount is shown on your public trust profile.

15How FIX IT verifies this

  • Our reviewer checks the insured or employer name against your verified identity or company.
  • We record the cover amount, policy period and expiry date from the schedule.
  • The nightly compliance scan marks documents expiring_soon at T-30, T-14 and T-7 and expired past the expiry date.
  • Expired mandatory documents block new job offers automatically.
  • A summary of every scan is written to the audit log and surfaced on the admin health dashboard.
