1What is it?

Trade verification (Level 3 — Trade Verified) confirms one or more approved trade licences, board registrations or qualifications, and records the trade categories they cover on your provider record.

2Who needs it?

  • Plumbers, electricians, gas practitioners, HVAC technicians and security installers
  • Any provider offering a service that is legally regulated

3Who doesn't need it?

  • Providers offering only non-regulated services such as general handyman work, cleaning or garden services

5Why is it important?

Dispatch matches jobs to verified trade categories. Without trade verification you will not be offered regulated work, and customers will not see the credential they are looking for.

6Benefits

  • Eligibility for regulated work in your verified categories
  • Trade Verified badge showing exactly which trades are covered
  • Higher Trust Score and better dispatch ranking
  • Automatic expiry warnings before your licence lapses

7Step-by-step guide

  1. 1Complete identity verification first.
  2. 2Upload each trade licence or registration separately, with its number and expiry date.
  3. 3Select the trade categories the document covers.
  4. 4Submit for review.
  5. 5Keep every licence current — upload the replacement before the expiry date.

8Supporting documents

  • PIRB certificate or licence card
  • Wireman's Licence / Registered Person registration
  • SAQCC Gas or refrigeration registration card
  • PSIRA certificate and card
  • Trade test certificate or Red Seal

10Expected turnaround time

One to two working days per document after upload.

11Renewal requirements

Driven by the licence itself. Our compliance engine warns you at T-30, T-14 and T-7 days and blocks new offers where a mandatory licence has expired.

14Frequently asked questions

Can I be verified for more than one trade?

Yes. Each approved document adds its categories to your verified trade list.

What happens the day my licence expires?

The document is marked expired, the associated badge is withdrawn, and regulated offers in that category stop until you upload a current licence.

Does a qualification alone make me Trade Verified?

For non-regulated trades, yes. For regulated work you also need the statutory registration.

15How FIX IT verifies this

  • Our reviewer checks the issuing body, registration number, holder name, category and expiry on each document.
  • The holder name must match your verified FIX IT identity.
  • Approved documents write their categories into your verified trade category array.
  • Expiry dates feed the nightly compliance scan, which marks documents expiring_soon and then expired.
  • Expired mandatory documents automatically block new job offers in the affected categories.
